Meet the Staff!

Bob Gunn

Bob Gunn- Service Technician

Our most senior technician and a former HVAC business owner himself, Bob has over 30 years’ experience in this field.  Trained by the U.S. Navy Engineering Department in sheet metal fabrication, he then spent his time as a commercial contractor developing expertise across a number of disciplines.  Bob holds multiple NATE certifications and you’d be hard-pressed to find a system- no matter how old or rare- that he hasn’t seen before.  When not troubleshooting equipment, Bob divides his time between hunting and volunteering with various organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.

Alide Leal

Alide Leal- Shop Supervisor

"As an EPA-certified graduate of the Institute of Technology’s HVAC program, Alide (pronounced ah-leed) is defying the stereotype that there’s no place for a woman in the HVAC industry. Though she occasionally helps out in the office- you’ve probably spoken to her if you’ve called us- Alide’s putting her knowledge and mechanical-mindedness to manage our shop (stocking, ordering, organizing, equipment recycling, and so much more!). Se habla Español and ela fala Português as well! In her down time, Alide can be found working on cars and running after her three children."

Candy Bailey

Candy Bailey- Office Manager

Candy (short for Candice) has been working full-time at Bailey’s since 2010, but could often be found helping out in the summers before, then, too.  Candy works hard to give the same dedication and commitment to Bailey’s that she did at her alma mater, Fresno State, and if you’re getting a new system installed, it’s likely she will be your guide from go-ahead to final inspection, making the process as painless as possible.  In her spare time, she likes trying new recipes from a variety of cuisines and teaching water aerobics.

Chris Bailey

Christopher Bailey- Maintenance Technician

Much like his dad before him, Chris has been helping the company and tagging along on change-outs and service calls since he was 11.  As of 2012, he’s joined us full-time and currently holds the distinction of being our most highly-praised maintenance technician, often specially requested by customers.  Recently, Chris has been training through IHACI and PG&E to augment his on-the-job knowledge and apprenticeship.  In his free time, he enjoys hiking and studying electronics.

Jose Acosta

Jose Acosta- Project Manager

Jose graduated from the HVAC Institute with a 3.9 GPA in 1998, started working at Bailey’s the following year, and has been installing new systems for our clients ever since. Now he’s taking all his accumulated knowledge and experience to help streamline changeouts and new installs, making sure the process is smooth and on track from your signature on the contract to the final inspection. In his off time, Jose is most likely to be found in the dugout, coaching his daughter’s softball team to another victory!

Mitchell Bailey

Mitchell Bailey- Owner

Junior (Lee) Bailey started Bailey’s Air Conditioning in 1976 courtesy of the training provided to him by the U.S. Army, passing on all this knowledge and skill to his son Mitch, who has since taken over.  Mitch has 38 years of direct on-the-job experience, and continues to supplement his education with training through PG&E.  A member of ACCA, IHACI, and RSES, he currently holds six different NATE certifications, along with certifications in duct design, load calculations, Title 24, Wrightsoft, zoning, and home automation.  Under his C-20 and general contractor’s license, he has serviced and installed thousands of systems and built more than 30 homes over the years.  Mitch considers himself somewhat of a Renaissance man, with a diverse range of hobbies including, but not limited to, flying, sailing, rock climbing, volleyball, astrophysics, astronomy, poker, and home brewery.  If you’ve ever stopped by our shop, you’ve no doubt been gifted with a bottle of Mitch’s homemade beer or wine!

Kimberly Bailey

Kimberly Bailey- Accounting

Kim had already been studying bookkeeping in high school when she met and then married Mitch, so eventually joining him in the office at Bailey’s ended up being a perfect and serendipitous fit.  Bailey’s would truly be in chaos without Kim’s expertise, seeing how she oversees all the important clerical work that keeps a business up and running.  Although if she had her way, she’d be at home in her garden or sipping a cup of tea with her latest sewing project!

buddy

Buddy

"Buddy was feral when we first found and rescued him from the back of our shop- not that you’d ever know it now! He’s quite possibly the snuggliest cat any of us at Bailey’s have ever met, and is more than happy to act as a furry paperweight for all the girls in the office. Make sure to give him a pet the next time you stop by!"

Jacob Thompson

Jacob Thompson

Much like the Bailey's clan, Jake came to HVAC via family- he's been working in the field with his uncle since he was eight years old. As the summer season gets busy, Jake has come on board to help Brandon make sure our inventory and trucks are stocked, our shop clean, and all jobs are running as smoothly as they can. Not to mention that with his EPA certification (Types I & II) and N.A.T.E. certification, you're likely to see him on the job as well. Downtime for Jake means working on his truck and playing music.

Jim Mark

Jim Mark- Shop

"A familiar face! With seven years’ experience at the helm of Bailey’s shop under his belt, Jim has recently been rehired and lost no time picking up right where he left off, helping Alide in the shop and zipping all around town for deliveries. In addition to that, Jim is also our resident duct-tester, meaning that you might get to see his smiling face towards the end of your changeout, too. In his spare time, Jim enjoys camping at the lake with his friends and playing cards."

Alfredo Duran

Alfredo Duran- Comfort Specialist

A Modesto native, our newest Comfort Specialist doesn’t come from an HVAC background, but he has applied the same passionate dedication to learning the ins-and-outs of our industry that he did in his nearly thirty years in the restaurant business, training both directly under Mitch and independently through classes offered by PG&E. Alfredo likes the ocean, golfing, and getting to enjoy the newfound balance of work and family his new job allows him. If you’ve been thinking about getting a new system, just ask for Alfredo, and he will pinpoint the best HVAC solutions for all your needs!

Robert Aguilar

Robert Aguilar - Installer

Much like Jim, Robert has come back to Bailey's after a hiatus, but whose quick and impeccable work during our stint in new tract home construction left quite an impression. He brings those same skills acquired on the job over his thirteen and a half years in the industry to his installations now, along with strong people skills and a friendly and outgoing attitude. After work, Robert is spending time with his family (including a new baby!), taking them on bike rides, and employing his bilingualism to help translate to and from Spanish for friends and neighbors.

Duane

Duane Victory - Maintenance Technician

With a name like Victory, Duane sure fits in with our new moniker, Air Heroes! Trained and graduated from IHACI, he has now been in the field for over a year and is currently shadowing other maintenance and service technicians at Bailey’s to learn everything he can. Duane’s spare time is mostly eaten up by chasing after four little ones- although he’ll soon be dividing it between wedding planning, as he recently proposed (and she said yes)!

Chris2

Chris Clark - Installer

Our second blonde, bearded technician named Chris . . . no, you’re not seeing double! Chris Clark is a newer addition to Bailey’s, but has three years of experience in the HVAC field and two years in framing. In his past two years here at Bailey’s, Chris has proved capable in several of our various divisions- including maintenance, service, and installation. An Institute of Technology graduate, Chris’ hobbies (and growing tool collection) reflect his mechanical inclinations, as his off-time is also spent working in his shop building and acting as a handyman for friends and family.

Jeff

Jeff Painter- Service Technician

Contrary to popular belief, those who can do . . . also teach! Jeff is a Certified Master Trainer through the National Center for Construction Education and Research and has 23 years under his belt as an HVAC educator. That, combined with his NATE certification and over 40 years’ worth of experience as a technician and installer in the field, means he can simultaneously get the job done and train our new hires right onsite. In his spare time, Jeff likes to cook (still looking for the perfect lobster bisque recipe!), fish, play with RC cars, and strum on his guitar.

Coleen

Coleen Bailey- Receptionist

Another Bailey- but no blood relation! Coleen comes to Bailey’s with over 30 years of customer service under her belt. A Chicago native and Cubs fan, she moved to California and has spent over 25 years in the plumbing industry. Coleen is in charge of scheduling maintenance visits to make sure everyone gets their regular cleanings done. When not at work, Coleen channels her passion for German Shepherds by fostering them and volunteering for a senior German Shepherd dog rescue. She also loves to travel, hike, camp, and go boating.
